NORMAL SKIN
Normal Skin
- Normal skin is perfectly balanced.
- It neither produces too much nor too little oil.
- It is usually in good condition and free of blemishes and dark spots as it rarely breaks out.
DRY SKIN
Dry Skin
- Dry skin is dry because the sebaceous gland (oil glands) do not produce enough oil to lubricate or moisten the skin. It is usually lacking in oil.
- Moisturizers are usually needed to make up for the lack of oil naturally produced by the skin.
DRY DEHYDRATED SENSITIVE SKIN
(EXTRA DRY SKIN)
Dry Sensitive Dehydrated
- Dry skin doesn't produce enough oil.
- Dehydrated skin would is lacking water.
- So a Dry Sensitive Dehydrated Skin Type lacks sufficient oil and water making it very dry and usually sensitive.
- Dry Sensitive Skin can result from excessive caffeine consumption, allergy and cold medications, thyroid issues, smoking or improper use of cleansers.

Dry Skin and Uneven Skin Tone
Dry or mature skin with an uneven skin tone or has post inflammatory hyperpigmentation but does not have active acne issues.

COMBINATION SKIN
Combination Skin
- Combination Skin is most commonly referred to as an oily skin on the forehead, nose and chin and dry cheeks.
- However, there are other combination of as well.
- Sometimes, the forehead will be oily and the remainder of the face dry.
- Combination Skin can also be combination/dry or combination/oily.

- Combination skin that has pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and also has dark marks resulting from those breakouts.
- These dark marks are referred to as post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
OILY SKIN
Oily Skin
- Oily Skin is oily because the sebaceous glands (oil glands) produce too much oil. And this excess oil causes enlarged pores.
- This type of skin usually gets oily immediately after cleansing or soon afterward and usually appears shiny in appearance.

- Oily skin that has pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and also has dark marks resulting from acne breakouts or exposure to ultraviolet rays.

Oily skin that has an uneven skin tone or post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, also known as dark spots, with no active acne present.
OILY DEHYDRATED SKIN
Oily Dehydrated Skin
- This skin profile is more common than you think.
- Oily skin produces too much oil which usually lubricates the skin, however this skin type is lacking in water and feels dry, tight and oily all over the face at the same time.
- This is different than combination skin that may have oily an dry areas.
- Usually this type will use a moisturizer and it will break them out or make them more oily.
MATURE OILY SKIN
Mature Oily Skin
- This is not a common skin profile, but it still deserves mentioning.
- Sometimes someone who is 50 + still has oily or very oily skin.
- This skin type may also have some loss of elasticity or skin sagginess but will not have as many, if any, wrinkles.
OILY SENSITIVE SKIN
Oily Sensitive Skin
- This skin type could have oily or very oily skin but find that many skin care products cause them to breakout more or or too harsh to bear.
- A person with this skin type might give up on skin care products altogether and end up using just water to cleanse their skin.
HORMONAL ACNE
Hormonal Acne
- This is another skin profile that is more common than you think.
- Sometimes a person with dry skin will breakout from hormones, pregnancy, birth control pills or just from clogged pores due to an external source.
- It's a commonly held belief that only oily skin can breakout, and that s not true.
